About the position
The Registered Nurse (RN) - On-Call position at Ingleside at King Farm is responsible for directing and evaluating resident care provided by nursing staff within the community. This role involves administering nursing care, ensuring compliance with safety and infection control standards, and maintaining communication with physicians and other departments. The RN will also oversee medication distribution, document resident conditions, and provide leadership and support to nursing assistants.
Responsibilities
- Provide resident care in the form of treatment, medication, and diagnostic procedures as delegated by the Director of Nursing or designate physician.
- Complete purposeful rounds throughout the Health Center, Assisted Living, and Memory Support neighborhoods.
- Address safety and infection control issues with licensed staff for follow-up.
- Ensure that medications and treatments are distributed to all residents within the Nursing Center and Assisted Living Units.
- Maintain alertness to clinical signs and symptoms indicating progress or adverse reactions to prescribed treatments.
- Document resident care provided and residents' responses to care.
- Identify resident problems in emergency situations and initiate immediate measures as appropriate.
- Administer and document medications and treatments as prescribed by the physician.
- Assist with admission, transfer, and discharge procedures, coordinating with other departments and service providers.
- Supervise delivery of meals and ensure proper diet and nutrition for residents.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in nursing with Registered Nurse certification required.
- Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) training required.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- High-quality interpersonal and leadership skills.
- Proficient in computer applications and Care System paging systems.
