About the position

Connected Health Care is seeking a Travel NICU RN to provide specialized care to newborns and infants in need of critical care at a top-tier healthcare facility in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. This role involves working 12-hour night shifts and offers an incredible opportunity for skilled NICU nurses to make a significant impact in the lives of vulnerable patients.

Responsibilities

  • Provide compassionate and expert care to neonates in the NICU, including those requiring respiratory support, IV therapy, and medication administration.
  • Monitor and assess neonates' vital signs, lab results, and response to treatments.
  • Provide care to preterm infants, full-term infants, and those with complex medical conditions.
  • Collaborate with neonatologists, pediatricians, and other healthcare professionals to develop care plans and ensure the best outcomes.
  • Communicate effectively with families, providing updates and emotional support.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed patient records in compliance with hospital policies.
  • Respond quickly and effectively in emergency situations and follow NICU protocols.

Requirements

  • ADN (Associate Degree in Nursing) required.
  • WI RN License or Compact RN License required.
  • AHA BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required.
  • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification required.
  • Experience working in a NICU setting is required.
  • Ability to care for critically ill neonates and provide family-centered care.
  • Strong clinical assessment skills and ability to make quick decisions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Nice-to-haves

  • AHA PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) preferred.
