About the position

The Registered Nurse (RN) position at Wyoming Medical Center involves providing comprehensive nursing care to patients in a 65-bed medical unit. The role emphasizes teamwork and collaboration, serving a diverse patient population with various medical needs. RNs will work three 12-hour night shifts, assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care in accordance with professional nursing standards and organizational policies. The position also includes opportunities for professional development and participation in quality improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Assess patient physical, psychological, social, spiritual, educational, developmental, cultural, and discharge planning needs.
  • Formulate a plan of care, including the discharge plan, utilizing assessment data and input from patients, families, and the health team.
  • Implement the plan of care through direct patient care and supervision of the healthcare team.
  • Evaluate the patient's and family's response to care and revise the plan of care as needed.
  • Document assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation in the patient record accurately and timely.
  • Provide care based on the best evidence available and participate in research activities within clinical practice.
  • Contribute to society through activities that lead to excellent patient outcomes and participate in professional organizations.
  • Interact with all levels of staff and external contacts concerning the health care of the patient.

Requirements

  • Current, valid RN license in the state of practice or compact RN licensure.
  • BLS certification is required.
  • Experience in an acute care hospital setting is desired, with a minimum of one year experience in the specialty area within the past 12 months.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's degree in nursing preferred.
  • Professional certification preferred.
  • Additional related education and/or experience preferred.
