About The Position

MVHS Inc. is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse – Medical / Surgical to provide high-quality nursing care to adult post-surgical patients in a fast-paced acute care environment. The RN will perform patient assessments, medication administration, post-operative care, and collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams.

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of recent Medical/Surgical nursing experience required
• Previous travel nursing experience required
• Strong acute care and post-surgical experience required
• Ability to work in a fast-paced hospital environment required
• Excellent communication and critical thinking skills required
• Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing required
• Active New York State RN License required
• Current AHA BLS Certification required
• Active RN license verification through NURSYS required

• BSN preferred

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to adult Medical/Surgical patients
• Perform comprehensive patient assessments and monitor patient conditions
• Deliver post-operative nursing care for surgical patients
• Administer medications, IV therapies, and treatments per physician orders
• Monitor specialty equipment including IV pumps, NG tubes, and feeding tubes
• Collaborate with physicians and healthcare teams to coordinate care
• Maintain accurate documentation using EPIC EMR
• Float to other units based on staffing needs
• Educate patients and families regarding treatment and discharge planning
• Ensure compliance with patient safety and infection control standards
