Responsibilities

  • Provide quality obstetric, neonatal, and gynecologic nursing care.
  • Incorporate emotional support and education with medical and nursing care.
  • Perform comprehensive assessments on all patients upon admission.
  • Plan individual patient care based on identified problems and needs.
  • Document patient care accurately and timely.
  • Reassess patient's condition and modify care plan as needed.
  • Accept charge responsibilities and assign staff appropriately.
  • Maintain a healing and therapeutic environment for patients and families.

Requirements

  • Licensed by the State of Tennessee.
  • Earned a nursing diploma or degree from a college or university.
  • BLS within 90 days of hire.
  • At least one year perinatal experience preferred.
  • Certified Lactation Consultant preferred.
  • NRP within six months of hire.
  • ACLS certification or agree to obtain within six months of hire.
  • Level I, Level II and fetal monitoring within 1 year of hire.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in perinatal healthcare delivery.
  • Ability to function in stressful situations.
  • Ability to return to work within 1 hour when on call.
