About the position

The Registered Nurse (RN) in Infusion Therapy at Mayo Clinic is responsible for coordinating nursing care, providing direct patient care, and educating patients and families. This role emphasizes a relationship-based care model and requires excellent communication and leadership skills. The RN will work within a team to ensure high-quality patient care across various settings, adapting to the needs of patients and families while supporting professional nursing practices.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate nursing care for patients, including direct patient care and education.
  • Support professional nursing practice across various settings and care continuums.
  • Plan, implement, evaluate, and communicate all phases of nursing care for assigned patients.
  • Provide leadership through preceptor roles and quality improvement efforts.
  • Delegate patient care based on skill level, experience, and patient acuity.
  • Participate in committees or projects as needed.

Requirements

  • Graduate of a baccalaureate nursing program.
  • One year of RN experience in an applicable care setting or one year of LPN experience at Mayo Clinic is preferred.
  • Current RN license by applicable state requirements.
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Experience working in a team environment.
  • Computer skills required, with prior experience in electronic medical record systems preferred.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including days, evenings, nights, holidays, and weekends.

Nice-to-haves

  • Additional state licensure(s) and/or specialty certification/training as required by the work area.
