About The Position

Under general supervision, the Registered Nurse II provides individualized, goal-directed patient care to families and patients at the competent level utilizing the principles and practices of the nursing process; delivers safe and effective care and interacts with other members of the health care team to achieve desired results. The RN will operate within the nursing scope of practice to provide high quality care for a broad patient population. The RN will work to ensure the patient and family members understand the procedure & plan of care; assist in procedure room preparation; maintain sterile technique; administer conscious sedation and other drugs as needed; monitor patient patterns & vital signs throughout the procedure; oversee the safety & comfort of patients before during and after procedures. The RN will be expected to apply working knowledge and experience in high volume procedural environment.

Requirements

  • A minimum of one year of work experience as a registered nurse required.
  • Telemetry or EKG monitoring required.
  • Licensure as a registered nurse by the South Carolina Board of Nursing or a compact state.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) required, either a certification from an American Heart Association (AHA) BLS for Healthcare Providers (or AHA recognized equivalent) or an American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer and Healthcare Provider.

  • Good peripheral vision capabilities. (Continuous)
  • Ability to maintain hearing acuity, with correction. (Continuous)

  • Ability to be qualified physically for respirator use, initially and as required. (Continuous)

  • Bachelor of Nursing degree preferred.
  • Emergency, procedural, or ICU experience strongly preferred.
