About the position

The Registered Nurse II position at the Oklahoma State Department of Health involves providing professional nursing services to clients in various settings, including child health, family planning, WIC, and communicable disease clinics. The role also includes responding to public health emergencies and participating in community health education programs. The position is part-time, with a work schedule from Monday to Friday, primarily from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.

Responsibilities

  • Provide professional nursing services to clients in various health department settings.
  • Participate in community health education programs.
  • Provide direction to community health workers and clinical support staff.
  • Promote tobacco cessation and prevention of communicable diseases through immunization.
  • Respond to public health emergencies, including natural disasters and disease outbreaks.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of and support the mission, vision, and values of the organization.

Requirements

  • Possession of a valid Oklahoma license as a registered nurse or a Registered Nurse License recognized by the Enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact (eNLC).
  • One year of professional nursing experience, or a Bachelor's in Nursing with a valid permanent Oklahoma license.
