About the position
The Registered Nurse II in the Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (CICU) at MUSC provides individualized, goal-directed patient care to families and patients, utilizing the principles and practices of the nursing process. This role involves delivering safe and effective care while collaborating with other healthcare team members to achieve desired patient outcomes. The CICU is a dynamic and fast-paced environment that requires nurses to manage complex patient needs, including those requiring advanced cardiac care.
Responsibilities
- Provide individualized, goal-directed patient care to families and patients.
- Utilize the principles and practices of the nursing process to deliver safe and effective care.
- Interact with other members of the healthcare team to achieve desired results.
- Manage patients with complex cardiac conditions, including those on advanced monitoring and treatment devices.
- Maintain appropriate nurse-to-patient ratios based on patient acuity.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Nursing degree preferred.
- Licensure as a registered nurse by the South Carolina Board of Nursing or a compact state.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
- A minimum of one year of work experience as a registered nurse is required.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience in a Cardiac Intensive Care Unit or similar setting.
- Advanced certifications in critical care nursing.
