About the position

The Registered Nurse I position at Baylor Population Program involves providing direct patient care in various Baylor Teen Health Clinic locations. The role focuses on supporting healthcare providers by collecting clinical data, administering medications and immunizations, and documenting patient care in electronic medical records. The nurse will work closely with a team to ensure quality patient care and assist in various healthcare services for teens aged 13-24.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care in one of eight clinic locations.
  • Collect pertinent clinical data to support the APP or MD with patient clinical telephone calls.
  • Refer and preauthorize treatment, and provide information to patients.
  • Document patient care services by charting in patient's electronic medical record.
  • Administer medications and immunizations to patients.
  • Assist in calling patients with results, appointment reminders, and scheduling appointments.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment; stock and order treatment room supplies.
  • Communicate effectively with healthcare teams and participate in team problem-solving methods.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Associate's Degree or Bachelor's Degree in Nursing.
  • Current license as a Registered Nurse (RN) by the State of Texas Board of Nursing.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience administering Immunizations and drawing blood for lab tests.
  • Experience working with teens and young adults.
  • Bilingual in English/Spanish.
