About the position

The Registered Nurse I assesses, plans, implements and evaluates nursing care, utilizing the nursing process in accordance with hospital standards and unit policies/procedures for the purpose of monitoring and evaluating patient functional status. This position requires working 24 hours per week, specifically two 12-hour shifts, with weekends and holidays required as per department process. The role involves staff floating to the ICU unit and Medical Surgical units as needed, depending on skills.

Responsibilities

  • Utilizes the nursing process to care for patients.
  • Assesses, organizes, and completes patient care considering patient age, cultural and psychosocial factors.
  • Documents steps of the nursing process using proper medical terminology.
  • Addresses problems and monitors progress toward goals.
  • Facilitates patient discharge through timely referrals and patient education resources.
  • Collaborates with other disciplines as appropriate.
  • Supports unit/hospital goals through performance improvement and educational activities.

Requirements

  • Completed the basic professional curricula of a school of nursing approved by a state board of nursing.
  • Valid multi-state or State of Oklahoma Registered Nurse License.
  • 0 - 6 months related experience.
  • Working knowledge of general disease state management processes, bio-psychosocial model, and clinical pathways.
  • Effective interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize work effectively and efficiently.
  • Detail-oriented in examining clinical and numerical data.
