Essential Duties and Responsibilities include reviewing patient charts for missing labs, reports, and/or open orders, triaging urgent same-day or double-book appointment requests, and coordinating and participating in daily huddles. The nurse will assist with inventory management, prepare equipment, and aid physicians during treatment, examination, and testing of patients. Additionally, the Registered Nurse will provide general nursing care to patients, administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with nursing standards, and plan, articulate, and coordinate care and interventions. They will maintain consideration for specific age-related characteristics, needs related to physical development, communication, and socialization and safety, in collaboration with other members of the care team. The nurse will assist with the COVID testing and vaccination processes, facilitate clinical messages, and chronic condition management education, provide abnormal test results to patients, and add recommendations to individualized care plans. Documentation is crucial, as the nurse must document progress notes in the electronic health record within 24 hours, manage patient flow through the primary care clinic, perform CLIA waived tests as needed, and maintain all environment of care quality logs. Participation in scheduled clinic rounds to maintain the environment of care is also required.
