Responsibilities

  • Support Southeast Minnesota geography including Rochester and surrounding cities.
  • Accountable for the delivery of nursing services based on initial and ongoing assessments of patient needs.
  • Function within the Mayo Clinic Nursing Professional Practice Model.
  • Plan, implement, evaluate and communicate all phases of care for assigned patients.
  • Deliver nursing services including direct care, patient/family/caregiver support, instruction and education.
  • Provide telephone triage and on-call responsibility 24/7.
  • Participate on committees or projects as needed.
  • Provide leadership through activities such as preceptor role, informal leadership roles, and quality improvement efforts.
  • Drive personal vehicle as part of the responsibility of the role.
  • Work flexible hours which may include days, evenings, nights, holidays, weekends and on call.

Requirements

  • Student or graduate of an accredited nursing program recognized by ACEN, CCNE, or NLN CNEA.
  • If graduated from a non-accredited nursing program, at least one year of RN experience in an applicable care setting is required.
  • Entry-level associate degree registered nurses must provide documented evidence of program completion of the baccalaureate degree in nursing within five years from the last day of the month of the RN start date.
  • Must maintain a valid Driver's License.
  • Current RN license by applicable state requirements prior to start date.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support for healthcare providers (BCLS) certificate of course completion required.

Nice-to-haves

  • One year of RN experience in an applicable care setting or one year of current LPN experience at Mayo Clinic is preferred.
  • Hospice experience preferred.
  • Experience working in a team environment.
  • Prior experience with electronic medical record systems preferred.
