About the position

The Registered Nurse - Hospice provides comprehensive, convenient, and high-quality hospice services to meet the physical, emotional, spiritual, and social needs of adult and geriatric patients with limited life expectancy. This role involves coordinating patient care, providing direct nursing services, and ensuring a safe environment for patients and their families.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates patient/family care across disciplines to ensure needs are met.
• Provides direct nursing care in the residence to adult and geriatric patients.
• Maintains a safe and risk-free environment for patients and staff.
• Participates in continuous quality improvement activities to enhance performance and outcomes.
• Builds partnerships with healthcare team members and supports service excellence standards.
• Demonstrates accountability for personal growth and seeks learning opportunities.
• Creates a caring experience for customers and prioritizes customer satisfaction.
• Collaborates with supervisors to develop and implement policies and training for compliance with standards.
• Orients new healthcare team members and promotes a positive learning experience.

Requirements

• Current Michigan Registered Nurse license
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Valid Michigan Driver's license
• Dependable automobile insured according to State of Michigan requirements
• Minimum of one year nursing experience
• Associate's degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Effective written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
• Ability to problem-solve and excellent critical thinking skills.

Nice-to-haves

• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN)
• Previous nursing experience in Hospice or Home Health setting.
