About the position
The Registered Nurse-Hospice is responsible for the comprehensive care of terminally ill patients, overseeing their care from admission to discharge. This role involves planning, coordinating, and documenting care in accordance with physicians' orders and regulatory standards, ensuring that each patient's unique needs are met through a tailored hospice plan.
Responsibilities
- Plan, coordinate, and provide care for terminally ill patients.
- Document patient care and maintain accurate records.
- Develop and implement individualized hospice care plans based on patient needs.
- Ensure compliance with accrediting organization standards and regulations.
- Utilize physicians' orders and professional nursing skills in patient care.
- Conduct home visits as necessary.
Requirements
- Graduate from an accredited nursing school accepted for licensure in the state of practice.
- Licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the state of practice is required.
- Valid driver's license and automobile insurance for home visits is required.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
- Prior experience in home health or hospice is preferred.
- 1 year of acute nursing experience is preferred.
