D2 (20 beds-all private rooms) and D3 (20 beds-all private rooms) work together to care for a medical surgical patient population. Whether it's orthopedic, spine, thoracic, vascular, bariatric or general surgery patients, those with general medical illnesses, infections, or patients at end of life. You have the opportunity to develop a solid foundation, hone your skills, gain expertise in various aspects of patient care, and truly make a difference. Responsibilities

  • Incorporates appropriate assessment and intervention skills that are age specific in all interactions and delivery of nursing care.
  • Assesses patients' physical/psycho-social status.
  • Analyzes relevant data and integrates assessment results in care planning, goals and outcomes.
  • Provides for therapeutic interventions based on the continued assessment, prescribed orders and input from other care providers.
  • Provides for adequate pain management, manages IV therapy and administers medications according to critical elements.
  • Communicates with patients, colleagues, providers, and management in an accurate, considerate, and timely manner.
  • Employs critical thinking skills to achieve outcomes and solve problems.
  • Engages in caring relationships that integrate the influence of the human experience of health, illness, and/or healing.
  • Manages own work and material resources effectively.
  • Applies leadership skills consistent with role and experience.
  • Incorporates teaching in delivery of care to promote health and prevent disease.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
  • Candidates with AAS in Nursing who will complete BSN within four years of date of hire will be considered.
