About the position
The position requires knowledge of the conditions/diagnoses, procedures, and equipment encountered in the Endoscopy unit, including Gastroenterology and Pulmonary. The candidate must exhibit knowledge of and consistently maintain SGNA standards of practice. Responsibilities include assessing patient reactions and understanding of procedures/instructions, actively involving patients and family members in teaching. The role demands flexibility and responsibility in meeting staffing needs of the unit, with a focus on improving patient satisfaction. The department operates Monday - Friday from 6:30 AM to 6 PM and Saturday from 7 AM to 4 PM, with an on-call team available for emergencies when the department is closed.
Responsibilities
- Maintains accurate, complete health care records and reports.
- Administers medications to patients and monitors them for side effects and reactions.
- Prescribes assistive medical devices and related treatments.
- Monitors, reports, and records symptoms or changes in patient conditions.
- Assesses, implements, plans, or evaluates patient nursing care plans by working with healthcare team members.
- Records patient vital signs and medical information.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
