The Float Teams at CHLA offer nursing support across various units, including multiple med/surg units, ICUs (PICU, CTICU, NICCU), and the ED. Nurses on these teams will take patient assignments on different units each shift based on hospital needs, allowing for a diverse nursing experience. Responsibilities

• Conduct patient assessments
• Participate in the development of the plan of care
• Implement and evaluate care according to patient specific age and/or developmental needs
• Collaborate with other health care team members in the delivery of care
• Follow applicable policies and procedures in handling supplies, pharmaceuticals, and equipment

Requirements

• 2+ years experience as a pediatric RN required
• Broad knowledge of patient care principles and equipment; CHLA patient care policies and procedures
• Flexibility and adaptability in assessing effectiveness of patient care
• Ability to maintain a calm demeanor and assist in crises and emergencies
• Prioritize tasks for complex patient care
• Effective verbal and written communication skills

Nice-to-haves

• Bachelor's degree in Nursing or Master's Degree in Nursing (MSN) preferred
