The Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) is a 10-bed unit for critically ill medical and surgical patients aged 18 and under, covering areas like congenital heart disease, respiratory failure, and neurosurgery. The Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) is a 21-bed Level IIIb unit providing intensive care for vulnerable preterm and term infants, with services for congenital abnormalities, neurosurgical disorders, and genetic disorders. As a member of the Critical Care Flex Team, you will be trained in both NICU and PICU, with extensive orientation and support provided. The nurse is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care, practicing according to standards, and providing learning experiences for patients and families.
