About the position

The Community Living Center (CLC) Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for delivering comprehensive nursing care to veterans in a supportive environment. This role involves assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating care tailored to the specific needs of each patient, particularly in areas such as daily living activities, skilled nursing, and dementia care. The RN coordinates care with an interdisciplinary team to enhance patient education and satisfaction, ensuring high-quality outcomes throughout the continuum of care.

Responsibilities

  • Assumes responsibility for the coordination of care focused on patient education, self-management, and customer satisfaction throughout the continuum of care.
  • Administers medications and procedures per established policies and guidelines.
  • Collaborates with members of the interdisciplinary team to influence care outcomes.
  • Formulates a plan of care based on nursing assessments.
  • Requires flexibility in schedule and assignments.

Requirements

  • U.S. Citizenship; non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens.
  • Current, full, active, and unrestricted registration as a graduate professional nurse in a State, Territory or Commonwealth of the United States, or the District of Columbia.
  • Graduate of a school of professional nursing approved by the appropriate accrediting agency.
  • English Language Proficiency in basic written and spoken English.

Nice-to-haves

  • 2 years professional RN experience
  • 1-2 years of long-term care, dementia or mental health experience.
