About the position

The Registered Nurse (RN) position in the Community Living Center (CLC) at the Erie VA Medical Center is responsible for providing competent, evidence-based care to patients and overseeing licensed vocational nurses and nursing assistants. The role emphasizes patient-centered care, coordination of care transitions, and collaboration with interdisciplinary teams to improve patient outcomes. This is a full-time, permanent position with a salary range of $69,213 to $130,967 per year.

Responsibilities

• Provide and supervise direct patient care using the nursing process.
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care based on age-specific components.
• Coordinate care focused on patient transition and self-management post-discharge.
• Administer medications and procedures according to established policies.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to influence care outcomes.
• Participate in quality improvement processes and customer service programs.
• Advocate for patients, families, and caregivers to improve outcomes.
• Lead the implementation of high reliability principles and I CARE values.

Requirements

• U.S. Citizenship is required.
• Graduation from an accredited school of professional nursing.
• Current, full, active, and unrestricted registration as a graduate professional nurse in a U.S. state or territory.
• Proficiency in basic written and spoken English.
