About the position

The RN Clinical Nurse I/Ambulatory provides professional nursing care in ambulatory, outpatient, and Medical Group practice settings. This role involves assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care under the supervision of a manager. The nurse is responsible for maintaining a safe work environment and ensuring clinical competency appropriate to the patient population served.

Responsibilities

  • Collect data pertinent to the healthcare consumer's health or situation.
  • Analyze assessment data to determine actual or potential diagnoses, problems, and issues.
  • Identify expected outcomes for a plan individualized to the healthcare consumer or situation.
  • Develop a plan that prescribes strategies to attain expected, measurable outcomes.
  • Implement the identified plan, coordinate care delivery, and employ strategies to promote health and a safe environment.
  • Delegate elements of care to appropriate healthcare workers in accordance with applicable legal or policy parameters.
  • Evaluate progress toward attainment of goals and outcomes.
  • Practice in a manner congruent with cultural diversity and inclusion principles.
  • Communicate effectively in all areas of practice.
  • Collaborate with healthcare consumers and other key stakeholders in nursing practice.
  • Demonstrate leadership in the professional practice setting and the profession.
  • Seek knowledge and competence that reflects current nursing practice and promotes futuristic thinking.
  • Integrate evidence and research findings into practice.
  • Contribute to quality nursing practice.
  • Evaluate one's own and others' nursing practice in relation to professional practice standards and guidelines.
  • Utilize appropriate resources to plan, provide, and sustain evidence-based nursing services that are safe, effective, and fiscally responsible.
  • Practice in an environmentally safe and healthy manner.
  • Practice ethically.
  • Promote shared governance and facility decision-making activities.

Requirements

  • Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing; BSN preferred.
  • BLS required per policy guidelines.
  • Current RN license or temporary license as a Registered Nurse Petitioner in the state of work and residence.
  • If declaring a National License Compact (NLC) state as primary state of residency, meet the licensure requirements in the home state.
