Responsibilities
- Provide professional nursing services including direct patient care such as assessment, evaluation, diagnosis, and interventions for medical and psychiatric conditions.
- Perform initial medical screening for youth at intake and implement infection control and wellness programs.
- Educate and counsel youth, families, and staff regarding medical and mental health care.
- Provide pre and post-HIV test counseling and prenatal education.
- Manage medical cases for youth with chronic or acute conditions and instruct non-medical staff on treatment and care.
- Prepare and file medical documents, schedule appointments, and perform data entry using an electronic management information system.
- Administer prescribed medications and monitor medication assistance.
- Provide first aid and emergency medical services for youth, visitors, and employees.
Requirements
- Valid Washington State RN License.
- Graduation from an accredited school of professional nursing.
- One year of professional nursing experience or equivalent education/experience.
Nice-to-haves
- Two or more years of nursing experience.
- Experience providing direction to staff as a lead or supervisor.
- Previous work experience in a Juvenile Rehabilitation Facility.
