About the position

The Registered Dietitian Nutritionist at NexDine plays a crucial role in enhancing the nutritional care of seniors within a Senior Living community. This position emphasizes a holistic approach to nutrition, integrating culinary and clinical practices to improve residents' health and well-being. The dietitian will work collaboratively with an interdisciplinary care team to assess and monitor the nutritional status of residents, develop care plans, and implement innovative dining and nutrition programs.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, develop, organize, monitor, and supervise the nutritional status of residents in accordance with federal, state, and local standards.
  • Conduct malnutrition screenings and individual clinical nutrition assessments using standardized protocols.
  • Identify residents at nutritional risk and recommend appropriate nutritional interventions.
  • Participate in care plan meetings and family meetings as assigned.
  • Endorse physician diet orders according to protocol and maintain confidentiality of resident information.
  • Participate in weekly weight and pressure injury reviews and document according to policy and procedures.
  • Assist with the QAPI program by executing audits and adhering to established standards for Clinical Nutrition.
  • Develop and implement nutrition and wellness activities tailored to the resident population's needs.
  • Establish effective working relationships with other facility departments to ensure unified resident care.
  • Participate in the development and documentation of in-service education programs for staff and interns.

Requirements

  • Valid Registered Dietitian license.
  • Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited university or college with coursework accredited by ACEND.
  • Completion of an ACEND-accredited supervised practice program.
  • Passage of a national examination administered by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR).
  • At least 1 year of experience in long-term care or healthcare settings.

Nice-to-haves

  • Current ServSafe certification.
  • Experience with Meal Suite (Diet/Menu platform).
