About The Position
To support the Director of Dietary in maintaining essential patient services on an as needed basis. The Registered Dietician will assess and document professional and technical competencies for other dieticians as part of the annual competency assessment.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Nutrition
- Registered Dietitian (RD)
- Current credential with the Commission of Dietetic Registration
Responsibilities
- Provide clinical nutrition services to the inpatient population according to facility policies and procedures.
- In the absence of the Director, provide direction and delivery of quality food and nutrition services under appropriate clinical supervision to patients to support the organization's delivery of appropriate patient care.
- Consult with physicians and other health care personnel to determine nutritional needs and dietary restrictions.
- Oversee the provision of food of the quality and quantity to meet patient needs in accordance with physician orders and to the extent medically possible, to meet the RDAs.
- Complete nutrition assessments per policy and procedure.
- Participate in treatment planning related to patient’s nutritional care plan.
- Comply with all hospital policy and procedures.
- Assess and document professional and technical competencies for other dieticians as part of the annual competency assessment.
