About the position

As the Regional VP of Operations in the Americas, Electrification Service Division, you will set the operations service strategy with full accountability and management for the US: of Aftermarket Business (Parts, switchgear modernization manufacturing, factory operations), Field and Aftermarket Quality, Customer Care, and Training and Development. As well as indirect management of Canada and Latin America operations (Mexico, Brazil, Colombia, Peru, Chile, Argentina) implementing KPI's and driving project completion. You will work collaboratively with Local Division Managers in Latin America, Canada and US Operations Managers to drive service growth. Business size: $450m with over 1000 employees. We are seeking someone who has business transformation experience and desires to be hands on in managing plant operations, leveraging their deep knowledge and experience with supply chain and quality management. The work model for the role is remote (#LI-Remote) out of the Cary, NC area.

Responsibilities

  • Providing expertise and resources to guide and manage service operations to meet order demand, competencies in service solutions, quality and full accomplishment of operational excellence with superior customer satisfaction.
  • Ensuring entire Service portfolio is covered and focus on optimized utilization of resources, efficient and cost-effective operational results to limit the cost within the budgeted figures and earn profitable growth with high productivity.
  • Defining, aligning and continuously improving a customer-focused operations strategy as a member of the ELSE Americas Region organization.
  • Ensures customer focus and retention by delivering superior customer service experiences; relentlessly drives improvement of the customer satisfaction by consistent development of processes and practices based on customer feedback (Net Promoter Score (NPS)).
  • Building and maintaining an effective, capable and high-performing organization through talent development, reviewing organizational effectiveness, driving competence assessments and continuous skill-upgrades.
  • Guides, motivates and develops the organization. Promote sharing of experience and leading practices in AMERICAS region and shares success stories.

Requirements

  • University Degree in Engineering (preferably in Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering).
  • Minimum 8 years of electrical power industry experience, 5+ years of experience in Service Factory Operations, including plant management experience or a proven record of manufacturing operations turnaround.
  • Six Sigma Green Belt or Lean manufacturing certificate will be considered as a plus.
  • Experience with ERP systems (SAP), manufacturing execution systems, or quality management software.
  • General knowledge of customer products, applications and processes; experience in defining and executing service contracts is an advantage.
  • Strong leadership skills and end to end operational understanding.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, fluent English language skills.
  • Proactive approach, self-motivated, independent working style, strong negotiation and influencing skills and willingness to travel (estimated 30% domestic and international).
  • Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US.
