About the position

The Regional Sales Manager for Hach is responsible for driving sales growth and building strong customer relationships within the industrial sector across Southern Indiana, Southern Illinois, and Southeast Missouri. This role emphasizes the importance of sustainability and water quality, allowing the manager to leverage their expertise to create new opportunities and enhance market penetration. The position offers the chance to mentor other sales managers and contribute to the overall sales strategy of Hach, a leader in water quality solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Create and execute strategic sales plans with the sales team to achieve ambitious targets.
  • Manage opportunities and accounts in Salesforce (SFDC), including tracking activities and sales progress.
  • Build relationships with engineering firms, industry contacts, and key decision-makers to position Hach as a leader in water management.
  • Attend customer site visits, trade shows, product demos, and seminars to keep the pulse of the territory.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities while supporting existing customer accounts.
  • Lead monthly funnel reviews and sales forecasts, presenting results with confidence and precision.
  • Mentor other Regional Sales Managers, sharing expertise and contributing to a culture of growth and success.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of direct sales experience, preferably in analytical instrumentation or industrial markets.
  • B2B experience selling complex industrial products and solutions, especially in sectors like Waste Water, Drinking Water, Power, or Industrial Water.
  • A degree in Chemistry, Biology, Environmental Science, Engineering, or related fields is a plus.
  • Familiarity with sales methodologies like Question Based Selling, Value Selling, or Sandler.
  • Experience with Salesforce.com or other CRMs is preferred.
  • Comfortable with traveling up to 75% of the time within the territory.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in mentoring or leading sales teams.
  • Knowledge of water quality solutions and technologies.
