About the position

The Regional Maintenance Manager is responsible for repairs and maintenance of the physical plant and grounds of each hotel within the region to preserve Company assets in a safe and cost-effective manner in accordance with the Company's programs and procedures. This position will cover hotels in North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Pennsylvania, and Virginia, and the candidate must be based in Charlotte, NC. The role involves managing necessary repairs, monitoring preventive maintenance procedures, and training property maintenance personnel to maintain the property.

Responsibilities

  • Interviews property maintenance personnel and recommends for hire.
  • Implements and monitors adherence to Preventive Maintenance Program at each property in the region.
  • Monitors adherence to Drury Hotels policies and procedures with regard to maintenance and repairs.
  • Repairs and/or inspects repairs made by property personnel to ensure quality workmanship.
  • Trains property maintenance personnel in operating equipment in safe and effective procedures.
  • Inspects facilities to ensure compliance with local codes and ordinances.
  • Advises General Manager and Regional Manager of needed repairs and required expenditures.
  • Prepares and submits timely maintenance reports to each General Manager.
  • Communicates with General Manager to review priorities for visit and reviews activities before leaving.
  • Monitors and implements departmental safety/security procedures.

Requirements

  • Requires general knowledge of building maintenance principles and practices.
  • Requires skill and ability to repair complex heating, air conditioning, plumbing, and electrical systems.
  • Requires ability to evaluate building problems and recommend solutions, including cost estimates for repairs.
  • Requires ability to communicate clearly with managers and other hotel staff.
  • Requires ability to train others in effective methods.
  • Requires knowledge of local codes and ordinances.
  • Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to completion of a technical degree in mechanical, electrical, carpentry, plumbing, heating, ventilation, and air conditioning.
  • Requires a minimum of 3 years in mechanical and/or electrical field or general building maintenance.

Nice-to-haves

  • EPA 608 Universal Certification for Refrigerant Recovery.
  • Certified Pool Operator (CPO).
