About The Position

Reporting to the Director of GDC Global Network Design, the Regional Information Communications Technology Engineer is responsible for the centralized ownership, harmonization, and end to end service delivery of Network Reference Designs for the AMER region, in alignment with Global Reference Design (GRD) standards. This role is also responsible for the development of foundational communications infrastructure and architectural documentation supporting AMER GDC new construction projects. The position requires close coordination with NTT design and construction managers, sales and commercial teams, client fit out groups, and external consultants to leverage subject matter expertise across the GDC organization. The role ensures that local, regional, and global codes and standards are consistently applied to design and design specifications, while minimizing lead times and costs and delivering a high quality client experience.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in the design, installation, and commissioning of passive infrastructure assets, including ducting, fiber, CAR, IT Room, MMR/CMMR, and structured cabling systems.
  • Proficient in the use of design and documentation tools such as Visio, AutoCAD, CRM platforms, or equivalent solutions.
  • Demonstrated experience in management responsibilities, including budget oversight and cost control.
  • Ability to translate business requirements and best practices into cost‑effective, resilient infrastructure architecture solutions.
  • Strong leadership capability with a motivational, collaborative style, sound decision‑making skills, and appropriate assertiveness.
  • Solid understanding of planning and project management concepts, with the ability to establish, organize, and lead meetings and working groups.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to document meetings, actions, project status, and technical details clearly.
  • Experience developing and executing strategic policies, including the selection of appropriate methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria to achieve results.
  • Completed technical education, field military training or an approved combination of education and technical experience necessary to meet requisite skills usually obtained from 4-8 years related experience.
  • Minimum of 4 years of combined management and hands‑on Passive Infrastructure Telecom management experience, with strong expertise in data center or telecommunications passive infrastructure environments.
  • Regularly moves equipment and other hardware up to 25 lbs.
  • Frequently move about inside and outside of data center / facility.
  • Remain stationary for long periods of time.
  • Ascend / Descend a ladder and perform duties atop a raised platform.
  • Position self in small spaces.
  • Operate computer, peripherals, and other office equipment.
  • Perform work during US business hours and time zones.
  • Occasional work onsite at a data center location.
  • Exposure to varying temperatures and loud noises.
  • Exposure to outdoor weather conditions.
  • Travel required 25% to 35% of time.
  • Perform work from a remote location with stable internet connection.

Responsibilities

  • Accountable to the Director of GDC Global Network Design for all network design activities across the AMER region, in alignment with Global Reference Design (GRD) standards.
  • Ensure all network builds meet product, IS, client, and regulatory requirements across AMER.
  • Develop, refine, and govern network reference documentation, policies, procedures, and methodologies aligned with the service ownership blueprint.
  • Maintain and evolve internal systems, communications, and installation records, including production of accurate written as‑built documentation.
  • Collaborate with internal and external GDC stakeholders to proactively improve site infrastructure, driving cost efficiency, reduced lead times, and enhanced client experience.
  • Define specifications for structured cabling and passive infrastructure products and services, including CAR, IT Room, MUA, PoE, MMR, ducting, and cable tray systems.
  • Produce infrastructure design and construction documentation using tools such as Visio, Bluebeam, and BIM 360.
  • Identify, harmonize, and centralize all as‑built documentation in collaboration with the wider GDC organization.
  • Plan, organize, and direct ICT infrastructure projects and activities across the AMER region.
  • Represent the GDC Network Design function within the AMER region, acting as a key technical authority.
