About the position
The Regional Industrial Maintenance Technician plays a crucial role in ensuring customer satisfaction by performing planned maintenance and addressing service calls for conveyor systems. This position requires a strong focus on mechanical troubleshooting and maintenance of material handling equipment, while maintaining a professional image and effective communication with customers and team members.
Responsibilities
- Promote a safe working environment by following all safety procedures.
- Complete planned maintenance routines with proper documentation.
- Troubleshoot mechanical problems related to all material handling equipment (MHE) including conveyor belts, VFDs, motors, photo-eyes, and relays.
- Maintain a professional manner in front of the customer to guarantee a professional image for the company.
- Track and store department inventory.
- Preview calendar and job tickets assigned by the office in advance before the day of the assignment.
- Identify what is needed for the job and ensure preparedness for the assignment.
- Communicate back to the office any questions to be prepared for the assignment.
- Accept new duties and responsibilities when assigned.
- Work well with other on-site technicians and subcontractors.
- Perform walk-through inspections and report vital information on work-orders via email.
- Turn in customer signed work-orders daily accounting for labor and travel.
- Call the manager for assistance if a problem arises during customer production.
- Maintain spare parts inventory onsite and keep an accurate inventory list.
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- 2+ years of experience in industrial maintenance, with a strong focus on automated conveyor systems.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
- Basic computer knowledge with Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and internet.
- Basic math skills and reasoning ability.
