About The Position

The Regional Director of Operations provides leadership and management oversight for all hotel operations including team member staffing and relations, budgeting and financial responsibilities, forecasting, top line revenue generation, guest services and facilities/operations management for an assigned region. The Regional Director of Operations is responsible for ensuring labor and quality standards are upheld and assists with establishing a positive work environment, developing strong relationships, and administering policies and procedures established by the company and the hotel brands. This position is responsible for leading a portfolio of branded select-service and extended-stay hotels across multiple markets while driving operational excellence, financial performance, guest satisfaction, talent development, and brand compliance.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of hospitality experience, including at least 5 years in senior hotel leadership and multi-property oversight.
  • Demonstrated experience managing hotel portfolios with direct accountability for revenue growth, GOP performance, labor controls, forecasting, budgeting, and owner reporting.
  • Demonstrated experience exercising considerable judgment and discretion in dealing with matters of significance.
  • Previous P&L and income statement responsibility for a multi-unit organization.
  • Extensive knowledge in sales, employment practices, and business development.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to speak clearly and listen attentively.
  • Ability to read and write effectively.
  • Ability to resolve problems effectively.
  • Ability to manage stressful situations with poise and finesse.
  • Experience directly leading and developing General Managers within a multi-property environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous Regional Director of Operations (RDO), Regional Manager, Area Director, or multi-property leadership experience.
  • Experience presenting operational and financial performance to ownership groups, asset managers, and investment partners.
  • Experience overseeing multiple hotels across branded portfolios.
  • Strong preference for candidates with direct experience managing Marriott and/or Hilton branded properties.
  • Demonstrated success improving guest satisfaction, financial performance, labor management, and brand compliance across multiple locations.

Responsibilities

  • Oversees all hotel team members within the assigned region with the authority to interview, select and set the pay of team members; discipline team members; make formal termination recommendations; and investigate and adjudicate complaints.
  • Through subordinate managers, administers recurring or daily functions or processes necessary for business execution and identifies opportunities for improvement or efficiencies.
  • Develops and implements strategies meant to assist the region in meeting its critical goals and supporting overall business objectives in the most efficient manner possible.
  • Serves as a point of contact between hotels within the assigned region and corporate team; tracks regional performance, identifies opportunities, provides reports, communicates hotel needs to corporate team.
  • Leads and supports the deployment of new policies, reports and procedures as needed across assigned region.
  • Provides direction, training, and support to General Managers on company systems, programs, and brand requirements.
  • Ensures regional adherence to company policies and procedures such as payroll, timekeeping, benefits, progressive discipline, and rewards.
  • Maintains regular communication with General Managers to provide ongoing support, mentoring, coaching and professional development.
  • Oversees effective labor management objectives through proper scheduling, monitoring, and adjusting based on business needs.
  • Conducts routine on-site inspections of hotel operations and facilities to maintain standards per company, brand, local, state and federal regulations.
  • Works collaboratively with CDOS and CDOR to ensure top line revenue functions are in line with company and brand standard and that all hotels and restaurants perform competitively in their marketplace.
  • Oversees derivation of annual budgets for all hotels and restaurants in their assigned region and works to establish top line, labor, and expense practices to drive optimal financial success.
  • Ensures company standards of operation are in place and that all hotels and restaurants are driving a positive guest experience.
  • Interfaces with brand, ownership partners, and asset managers to ensure strong collaboration, communication, and partnership with the company.
  • Leads regular company-wide meetings to relay company initiatives and changes to the hotel teams.
  • Supports and ensures all food and beverage outlets, restaurants, markets, and stores meet brand standards and have a positive return on investment and support the guest experience.
  • Implements and regularly ensures compliance of all OCI standards at hotel level.
  • Leads operational onboarding, transition, and integration efforts for newly acquired or newly managed hotels.
  • Performs additional responsibilities as assigned by leadership.
