About the position

The Regional Corporate Responsibility Officer for the Great Lakes Region at AdventHealth Corporate is responsible for leading compliance activities and resources, ensuring the achievement of goals for compliance and related departments. This role involves implementing the AdventHealth Corporate Responsibility Program for designated physician practices and facilities, overseeing compliance and privacy matters, and managing the Regional Corporate Responsibility program. The officer will establish collaborative partnerships with leaders in finance, operations, and clinical functions, and act as an advisor on compliance risks and controls for strategic initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Implement the AdventHealth Corporate Responsibility Program for designated physician practices and facilities.
  • Lead day-to-day operations of the corporate responsibility function, including compliance and privacy matters.
  • Oversee development and implementation of compliance measures corresponding to professional standards and applicable laws.
  • Conduct continuous monitoring and risk assessment of regulatory risks and industry trends.
  • Establish and maintain collaborative partnerships with leaders in finance, operations, and clinical functions.
  • Advise business leaders on compliance risks, gaps, and potential controls.
  • Conduct hiring, training, directing, development, and evaluation of staff.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred.
  • 7 years of experience required.
  • Certification in Health Care Compliance or certification eligible, with certification obtained within the first year.
  • Strong knowledge of healthcare compliance and regulations including OIG Compliance Guidance, Federal False Claims Act, Anti-kickback Statute, Stark Law, and HIPAA.
  • Strong working knowledge of compliance and healthcare software/technologies.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of Medicare and third-party payer coding and billing regulations.
  • Working knowledge of word and excel platforms.
  • Strong ability to assess, interpret, and report data.
  • Organizational and planning skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks.
  • Ability to operate successfully in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.

Nice-to-haves

  • 10 years of experience preferred.
  • 5 years of leadership or management experience preferred.
