About the position

The Refugee Cash Assistance Specialist at the International Rescue Committee (IRC) is responsible for managing services that assist newly arrived refugee clients in achieving self-sufficiency through short-term cash assistance and referrals to employment services. This role involves administering Refugee Cash Assistance services, ensuring compliance, and providing support to clients in need.

Responsibilities

• Providing intake, assessment, and enrollment to a caseload of Refugee Cash Assistance clients.
• Ensuring monthly compliance of program participants and distributing Bank of America cards.
• Recertifying clients for RCA at month 4 and screening monthly for continued eligibility.
• Working with the Economic Empowerment Supervisor to screen Cuban Entrants for RCA eligibility.
• Reconciling monthly RCA payments with finance staff.
• Administering monthly cash assistance payments and tracking expenses.
• Referring RCA clients to employment services, ELI services, and other services as appropriate.
• Monthly travel to Midland to provide services to clients residing in the Permian Basin region.
• Ensuring case files and reports are maintained in accordance with grant requirements.
• Performing other duties as requested.

Requirements

• Undergraduate degree required.
• Excellent communication skills, with fluency in written and spoken English.
• Bilingual ability in Spanish highly desired.
• Proven success achieving goals and working effectively with all levels of staff in a multicultural environment.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Valid driver's license, reliable vehicle with current insurance, and the ability to travel regularly throughout the service delivery area.
