About The Position

This position is responsible for assisting the Supervisor in coordination of the daily responsibilities of the department by ensuring the Supervisor’s instructions are communicated to the team members and carried out timely and correctly. This position is also responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing all assigned equipment and company assets while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures. The successful candidate(s) must be willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 1 year of industrial refrigeration experience (experience may be combined across employers if it totals at least 1 year).
  • Must be able to follow instructions both written and oral.
  • Must be able to communicate with management personnel.
  • Good math, reading and writing skills to properly monitor equipment, check and record data.
  • Must be a member of the HAZMAT Team and pass annual physicals to maintain the HAZMAT qualification status.
  • All applicants must complete the final task that is separate from the application.
  • Former Tyson Team Members must be separated from the company for a minimum of 180 calendar days.
  • If you have worked at Tyson 3 times or more you will not be eligible for rehire.

Responsibilities

  • Assisting the Supervisor in coordination of the daily responsibilities of the department by insuring the Supervisor’s instructions are communicated to the team members and carried out timely and correctly.
  • Troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing all assigned equipment and company assets while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures.
  • Overseeing hourly checks for all the ammonia systems including compressors, condensers, evaporators, re-circulators, and any piping and associated equipment are completed and documented correctly.
  • Monitoring air compressors, boilers, thermal fluid systems, HVAC systems, air handlers, exhaust fans, ice maker, and water chilling systems and reporting any ammonia leakages.
  • Performing daily PM’s on the equipment and performing boiler tests and condenser treatment tests.
  • Visually inspecting all their assigned equipment on the roof and within the plant regularly.
  • Developing a thorough knowledge of plant layout, tools, parts, and equipment.
  • Maintaining and monitoring the ammonia refrigeration equipment within safety standards for the entire facility.
  • Being a member of the HAZMAT Team and passing annual physicals to maintain the HAZMAT qualification status.
