About the position
The Medical Referral Coordinator position is a full-time role focused on managing insurance authorizations and referrals for a medical practice. The ideal candidate will have experience in navigating various insurance systems and will be responsible for ensuring that patients receive the necessary authorizations for their medical procedures. This role requires strong bilingual communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Obtain authorizations from various insurance carriers including Humana, AvMed, UHC, NCH, Aetna, Ambetter, and Cigna.
- Navigate Availity for insurance authorization requests.
- Collect co-pays, deductibles, and patient balances.
- Assist in managing referrals and coordinating patient care.
- Maintain accurate records of authorizations and referrals.
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of experience with insurance authorization requests.
- Proficiency with eClinicalWorks (eCW).
- Bilingual in Spanish and English.
- Strong multitasking abilities with attention to detail.
- Technical proficiency and familiarity with cardiac devices and electrophysiology procedures is a plus.
