About The Position

The Records Assistant reviews and evaluates official college transcripts; posts transfer credits to student records; processes various forms; communicates with internal and external constituents; uses and updates databases; assists with phone and office coverage; and assists with various office projects, as assigned. Requirements

  • Excellent typing skills, knowledge of computer applications, including how to research on the internet and the ability to use Microsoft software and SharePoint with a high level of proficiency.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of College programs and services.
  • Knowledge of general office procedures.
  • Knowledge of FERPA regulations.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to maintain accurate files.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Ability to maintain professionalism, patience and understanding in stressful situations.
  • Ability to effectively work/interact with various cultures and ethnicities.
  • Associate’s degree required.
  • Three (3) years of related work experience.
  • Equivalent combination of education and/or related work experience considered.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office and SharePoint software required.
  • Must pass background check.

Responsibilities

  • Reviews and evaluates official college transcripts.
  • Post transfer credits to student records.
  • Uses, updates & maintains various departmental databases, including TES.
  • Processes various Registrar's Office forms & links them into Etrieve.
  • Assists with various tasks associated with grade processing on a quarterly basis.
  • Drafts and sends communication pieces to students, faculty, and staff.
  • Maintains a current procedural manual for position.
  • Answers multi-line telephone and directs calls to appropriate staff.
  • Greets students, faculty and other customers, directing them to the appropriate resources.
  • Assist with filing.
  • Assist with various office projects as needed.
  • Consistently and dependably attends work, activities, and functions as scheduled or assigned.
