About the position
The Receptionist/Medical Assistant Floater position is a part-time role at Carolina Pediatric Group, focused on providing exceptional customer service and administrative support in a busy medical environment. The ideal candidate will be the first point of contact for patients and visitors, managing front desk operations while assisting clinical staff and ensuring smooth patient interactions.
Responsibilities
- Greet and assist patients and visitors in a friendly and professional manner.
- Manage incoming calls, schedule appointments, and handle patient inquiries.
- Maintain accurate patient records and ensure confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
- Process patient information, including insurance details, medical history, and coding for billing purposes.
- Coordinate with medical staff to facilitate patient care and ensure timely communication regarding appointments and follow-ups.
- Assist clinical staff with vital signs and triage.
- Assist with administrative tasks such as filing, data entry, and maintaining office supplies.
- Provide support in emergency situations by utilizing basic life support skills when necessary.
Requirements
- Valid Certified Medical Assistant certification.
- 1 year of experience with EMR systems.
- 1 year of experience taking vital signs.
- BLS Certification.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience with vaccines.
- Knowledge of coding practices relevant to healthcare billing processes.
