About the position

The role of the Receiving Associate is to safely and efficiently load, unload, identify and tag merchandise from vendors and other AFW facilities. The Receiving Associate position offers one of the best distribution/warehouse earning packages in the area. Starting Pay: $18.00/HR (.50 more can be earned if cross trained in Order Pulling) with a $2/Hr Weekend Premium added on to your base pay rate. We pay every Friday. 40-80 hours of vacation annually, 2 personal days each year, Company-provided training & leadership development tracks for promotion opportunities, Gym facilities in most work locations, Excellent benefits.

Responsibilities

• Safely and efficiently load and unload merchandise from vendors and other AFW facilities.
• Become certified in the operation of warehouse equipment.
• Use trailer chocks and operate a fork lift, reach truck, and pallet jack for loading and unloading trailers/containers.
• Perform correct lifting and team lifting techniques.
• Breakdown merchandise inside trailers/containers and position merchandise for removal.
• Operate a radio frequency (RF) scanner.
• Accurately match packing list to vendor labels and load merchandise from the dock to trailers.
• Identify merchandise by vendor label and apply matching AFW label when directed.
• Sweep docks, trailers, and containers.
• Safely load merchandise onto pallets and unload merchandise to and from pallets/skids.
• Work independently without direct supervision and as a team member.
• Maintain a flexible schedule and work all shifts, holidays, and weekends.

Requirements

• Ability to become certified in the operation of warehouse equipment.
• Ability to use trailer chocks.
• Ability to operate a fork lift, reach truck, and pallet jack for loading and unloading trailers/containers.
• Ability to operate and use a hand truck.
• Ability to perform the correct lifting and team lifting techniques.
