Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting
  • CPA, or CPA eligibility (with 150 credit hours)
  • 4+ years of experience in public accounting industry, preferably at a mid-market firm servicing real estate clients and / or 4+ years of progressive accounting experience within the real estate industry
  • At least 2 years operating in a Senior role at a public accounting firm
  • Passion for client service and an entrepreneurial mindset
  • DAILY ACCESS TO RELIABLE TRANSPORTATION to travel to and from client locations and our office locations
  • Strong collaboration skills and desire to work as a team

Responsibilities

  • Direct and supervise monthly and quarterly close processes, including review of bank reconciliations, journal entries, financial statement preparation, and reporting packages for client management teams.
  • Advise-on and oversee transaction-related accounting, including purchase price allocations, opening balance sheet setups, and gain/loss calculations, ensuring accuracy and alignment with client objectives.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with audit and tax teams to provide integrated solutions for compliance engagements.
  • Facilitate tax and audit requests and act as an intermediary between client management and various internal service teams.
  • Provide consulting and facilitation on accounting and tax matters related to entity structuring, transaction planning, business process improvement, and workflow optimization for real estate clients.
  • Review testing and workpapers prepared by staff for key advisory areas such as cash, accounts receivable/payable, fixed assets, revenue recognition, operating expenses, and debt compliance.
  • Identify complex issues and develop solutions proactively; communicate findings and recommendations to senior leadership and client stakeholders.
  • Develop and maintain strong client relationships, serving as a trusted advisor and enhancing client satisfaction through strategic insights and high-quality deliverables.
  • Coach and mentor staff, providing technical guidance, performance feedback, and support for professional development.
  • Stay current on accounting, auditing, and tax standards relevant to real estate, and lead team training initiatives to ensure compliance and best practices.
  • Manage special projects and strategic initiatives as assigned, including process improvement and technology integration efforts.
