About the position
The Reading Specialist will work within the Elms Elementary School to support students in developing their reading skills. This role is essential for enhancing literacy among elementary school students and involves working closely with teachers and parents to create effective reading programs.
Responsibilities
- Support students in developing reading skills through individualized instruction and intervention.
- Collaborate with classroom teachers to design and implement reading programs.
- Assess students' reading abilities and progress regularly.
- Provide professional development and resources to teachers on effective reading strategies.
- Communicate with parents regarding their child's reading progress and strategies for support at home.
Requirements
- Must hold a Reading Specialist (3310) certification.
- Experience in teaching reading at the elementary level is preferred.
- Strong understanding of literacy development and assessment.
