About The Position
The Benton School District is seeking a Reading/Dyslexia Paraprofessional to implement instructional activities with students under the direction of a teacher and/or building principal. This role involves assisting with lesson planning, preparing instructional materials, and collecting data. The paraprofessional will be responsible for performing instructional duties as assigned, implementing behavior management techniques, and treating all students with dignity and respect. The position also includes assisting with the physical management of students, classroom maintenance, and various duties such as lunchroom, recess, and bus supervision. Participation in training, staffing, and faculty meetings is expected, along with adherence to confidentiality policies for students under IDEA and all Benton School Board Policies. Other duties as assigned by administration are also part of the role.
Requirements
- 60+ College hours (transcript copy) OR Passed the ParaPro Praxis Test
Responsibilities
- Implement instructional activities with students as directed by the teacher and/or building principal.
- Assist in the preparation of lesson plans, instructional materials, and data collection.
- Assume responsibility for being prepared to perform instructional duties as prescribed by the teacher.
- Implement behavior management techniques as directed by the teacher/supervisor.
- Treat all students with dignity and respect.
- Assist with the physical management of students.
- Assist with the maintenance of the classroom.
- Assist with duties including but not limited to lunchroom, recess, bus, etc.
- Participate in training, staffing, and faculty meetings as directed by the building principal and Administration.
- Adhere to confidentiality policies and practices for students under IDEA as outlined by the teacher.
- Follow any Benton School Board Policy and/or practice.
- Perform other duties as assigned by administration, building principal, and/or the supervising teacher.
