About the position
The Jel Sert Company is looking for a passionate and dedicated individual to join our team as an Assistant Production Supervisor - 2nd Shift. This position supervises employees to maximize safety, food quality, and productivity. Key responsibilities include daily safety observations, production monitoring, lot control, inventory accuracy, reporting, sanitation, housekeeping, and adherence to standard operating procedures. The Assistant Production Supervisor assures correct preparation of products and finished goods and shares responsibility for safety training and method improvements.
Responsibilities
- Conduct safety line inspections, department safety audits, safety meetings
- Create daily and overtime schedules
- Delegate responsibilities to line group leaders and other employees
- Ensure high quality production, quality audits, and clean environment
- Assist in performing new hire orientation trainings
- Report and review employee disciplinary issues with supervisor
- Maintain sanitation and housekeeping
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years within a production environment, preferably lead experience
- Experience within Food and beverage industry preferred
- High school diploma, GED or equivalent experience, preferred BA/BS
- Bi-lingual (English/Spanish) required
- Capability to prioritize and organize workload
- Ability to foster teamwork
- Good verbal & written communication skills are required
- Basic computer skills within programs such as Microsoft Office and the internet are required
