About the position

The REACH WIC Technical Assistance Lead position at the University of Minnesota Twin Cities involves developing and managing technical assistance tools and resources for WIC professionals. The role focuses on enhancing the skills of WIC staff through comprehensive training and support, ensuring they are equipped to meet the unique needs of families served by WIC programs. The position requires collaboration with various stakeholders to implement effective strategies and evaluate program outcomes, ultimately contributing to the retention of a highly trained WIC workforce.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and identify technical assistance tools for Local and State WIC Agencies related to WIC TA-PC programs.
  • Provide technical assistance to Local and State WIC Agencies on program implementation and evaluation.
  • Work with the technical delivery team to create innovative assistance strategies for WIC Agencies.
  • Generate reports, summaries, and presentations for grant projects, including annual and evaluation reports.
  • Assist in coordinating the work of WIC coaches in professional development and program evaluation.
  • Conduct research and evaluation activities related to Center and Lab projects, including data collection and analysis.
  • Lead and co-author manuscripts for publication in peer-reviewed journals.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in public health, nutrition, social work, family studies, educational leadership, evaluation studies, or related discipline.
  • Two years of post-master's degree related technical assistance experience.
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills.
  • Experience in designing and conducting community-engaged research.
  • Ability to collaborate with academic researchers and community organizations.
  • Proficiency in qualitative and quantitative research methodologies.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English.

Nice-to-haves

  • Doctorate degree in public health, nutrition, social work, family studies, educational leadership, evaluation studies, or related discipline.
  • Familiarity with maternal and child health, nutrition, and food assistance programs such as WIC and SNAP.
  • Experience in developing and managing technical assistance programs.
  • Strong understanding of human-centered design principles.
  • Experience in designing user-centered solutions for service providers and recipients.
