About the position
The Railroad Track Maintenance Technician at PSC Group is responsible for maintaining track infrastructure, which includes constructing, inspecting, and repairing railroad tracks. This full-time position offers an opportunity to work in a stable and growing industry, contributing to the safety and efficiency of rail operations.
Responsibilities
- Repairs and rebuilds railroad tracks using power and non-power hand tools.
- Pulls spikes from ties, drills holes through rails for insertion and fastening of bolts, and replaces ballast.
- Operates large non-powered hand tools such as shovels, picks, axes, cutters, and sledgehammers.
- Operates electric, pneumatic, or hydraulic hand tools such as drills, impact wrenches, jacks, power saws, and grinders.
- Lifts and carries track material.
- Assists with re-railing of derailed railcars.
- Completes any other duties that may be assigned to complete the job.
Requirements
- Experience is a plus but not required; paid on-the-job training is available.
- May require a valid Driver's License and/or a valid TWIC card, depending on work location.
- Must be 18 years or older and legally able to work in the U.S.
- Must pass a drug screen, physical, and background check.
- Previous military experience and proven ability to follow procedures is a plus.
