About the position

The Mobile Intrack Welder Assistant/Railroad Equipment Operator is responsible for driving, operating, diagnosing, and maintaining a mobile electric flash-butt welding machine. This role involves traveling to various work locations, setting up welding operations, and ensuring tasks are performed safely and professionally. The position requires a valid CDL and offers opportunities for career growth within RailWorks Corporation, a leader in track and transit systems in North America.

Responsibilities

• Drive and operate a mobile electric flash-butt welding machine.
• Perform Intrack Welding functions safely and professionally.
• Supervise and lead a small group as needed.
• Report customer and production status in a timely manner.
• Set up and perform weld operations, including moving jack stands and cleaning the work area.
• Conduct QA inspections as required.
• Maintain vehicle and equipment cleanliness and functionality.

Requirements

• Valid Class A driver's license and satisfactory driving record.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Basic computer skills.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to read precision instruments and gauges.
• Mechanical and electrical knowledge related to heavy machinery.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to pass drug screening and background check.

Nice-to-haves

• Welding experience (not required).
