About the position

The Radiology Support Technician plays a crucial role in facilitating the delivery of services to radiology patients at Lehigh Valley Health Network. This position focuses on providing high-quality patient care and customer service, ensuring patient satisfaction while adhering to radiation safety guidelines. The technician will support imaging and hospital goals, communicate effectively with patients and staff, and assist in various support functions as part of the care delivery team.

Responsibilities

• Confirm physician orders are complete and obtain missing information prior to treatment.
• Provide care to patients using a patient/family centered approach in accordance with established policies.
• Employ observational skills and communicate findings to RN or Technologist.
• Use effective verbal and non-verbal communication styles with patients and staff.
• Participate in the orientation of new staff as assigned.
• Maintain accurate information in the database and perform clerical functions to support patient care.
• Perform registrations as required.
• Ensure the safety and efficiency of patient movement and transportation within departments.
• Confirm levels of supplies and equipment for patient care needs.
• Assume responsibility for cleanliness and sanitation of the work area.

Requirements

• High School Diploma/GED
• Must be 18 years or older
• Less than 1 year in a customer service role
• Ability to display a compassionate and positive disposition
• Ability to multi-task
• Basic computer and typing skills
• Ability to organize and prioritize assignments
• Knowledge of medical terminology
• Ability to follow direction and provide accurate reports
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support certification within 30 days.
