About The Position

Baylor Scott & White Health is seeking a Radiologic Technologist to join the Imaging Services team at Round Rock Medical Center. This full-time opportunity offers a $10,000 sign-on bonus, competitive benefits, and the chance to work in one of the most respected healthcare systems in Texas. This role will start as a variable shift position during the training period. Training typically lasts 45–90 days and includes working all shift types—weekdays, evenings, weekends, and overnight shifts. This training structure allows the technologist to understand the workflow and responsibilities associated with each shift. After training is successfully completed, leadership will assign a consistent schedule based on departmental needs and team fit.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an Accredited Radiologic Technology Program
  • Less than one year of experience required
  • ARRT (R) – Radiography required
  • Texas Medical Board (MRT) License required
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of hire

Nice To Haves

  • Hospital or acute-care experience preferred
  • Ability to perform radiologic procedures independently and efficiently
  • Strong knowledge of radiographic positioning, anatomy, and radiation safety
  • Excellent patient communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to remain calm and effective in high-volume hospital environments
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to diagnostic accuracy
  • Willingness to work various shifts during the training period
  • Ability to precept and mentor new technologists

Responsibilities

  • Perform high-quality diagnostic radiology (X-ray) procedures following physician orders and imaging protocols.
  • Maintain imaging productivity while ensuring excellent image quality and patient safety.
  • Monitor and manage radiation dose reference levels and take appropriate action when thresholds are exceeded.
  • Utilize AIDET communication practices to ensure positive patient experiences.
  • Prepare and position patients using proper immobilization devices and exposure techniques.
  • Follow strict radiation safety, infection control, and sterile technique standards.
  • Maintain imaging equipment and exam rooms to meet quality and safety standards.
  • Collaborate with engineers and physicists to ensure optimal equipment performance.
  • Verify patient orders, history, pregnancy screening, and consent documentation.
  • Maintain accurate records in PACS and EMR systems.
  • Assist with inventory management and department workflow improvements.
