About The Position
The Radiologic Technologist II operates a variety of radiology equipment to produce radiographs of the body for diagnostic purposes as directed by the Radiologists, in accordance with established protocols. This role assists physicians and other clinical staff with obtaining films, images, and other records using the Radiology PACS or hospital information systems. The technologist explains procedures to patients, providing opportunities for questions to reduce anxiety and promote trust, and delivers customer service in all aspects of the job.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED.
- IEMA (Illinois Emergency Management Agency) licensure
- Current CPR Certification (BLS) issued by either American Heart Association or Red Cross.
- At a minimum, must be a candidate for ARRT(R) (American Registry of Radiological Technology) certification (i.e., Certificate of Program Completion or a letter from the Radiology Program Director of the accredited school.).
- Knowledge of all current American College of Radiology(ACR)/JCAHO requirements in order to maintain compliance with all rules and regulations.
- Prior x-ray experience in a surgical environment, required.
