Performs routine and specialized diagnostic and technical radiographic procedures at an advanced skill level. This role involves performing radiographic examinations, obtaining patient history, explaining procedures, and addressing patient concerns. The radiographer will demonstrate leadership skills by overseeing the work of other personnel through training, allocation, and monitoring. They will also schedule cases, position and transfer patients safely, and practice radiation safety procedures. Image processing using digital technology, PACS troubleshooting, and EMR proficiency at a Super User level are key aspects of this role. The radiographer is responsible for evaluating image quality, maintaining a low repeat rate, and suggesting process improvements. Collaboration with other departments on projects to enhance care and efficiency is expected, as is creating a positive patient experience and work environment. Quality control monitoring and participation in projects such as equipment QA and creating standards of work are also required. The role may involve cross-training in skills like EKGs, phlebotomy, mammography, and dexa. Common expectations include demonstrating knowledge of growth and development across the lifespan, providing age-specific care, and adhering to safety regulations and policies. The position also requires participation in safety education and root cause analyses, as well as enhancing professional growth and providing outstanding customer service.
