About the position

The Radiographer I position is an entry-level role in the Pediatric Radiology department, designed for individuals to develop competencies in delivering specialized cardiovascular and radiologic technology services to both adult and pediatric patients. Under supervision, the radiographer will assist medical staff in diagnosing and treating various conditions, while ensuring high-quality patient care in diverse healthcare settings.

Responsibilities

  • Provide safe, high-quality, efficient, and cost-effective patient-centric care and support services under routine or emergent conditions.
  • Prepare patients for procedures and correlate clinical history with procedures ordered by physicians.
  • Communicate and collaborate with patients, families, and multidisciplinary care team members to achieve clinical outcomes and service expectations.
  • Utilize specialized cardiovascular and/or radiologic equipment to perform diagnostic, interventional, and surgical procedures according to established guidelines.
  • Conduct post-procedure reviews to confirm completion and documentation of required elements and technical quality.
  • Transfer images and data to archival systems, enter technical data/findings, and prepare studies for physician reporting.
  • Perform operator-level quality control checks, cleaning, and maintenance of equipment as per regulatory guidelines.
  • Participate in continuing education, professional development, and research activities.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree or higher, preferred.
  • Graduate of a CAAHEP accredited educational program in cardiovascular or radiologic technology specialty.
  • Current BLS certification upon hire.
  • Eligibility for ARDMS, ARRT, or CCI certification in the cardiovascular or radiologic technology specialty within 12 months of hire.

  • Skill in applying principles of cardiovascular and/or radiologic technology and medical imaging.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and follow instructions.
  • Sensitivity to patients' physical and psychological needs.
  • Ability to maintain accurate records and work with names, numbers, and codes.
  • Ability to exercise discretion in handling confidential information.
